In paraphrasing the great James Baldwin, it is just to critique America perpetually. That leads us to Colin Kaepernick. Since last year, when he became a household name for taking a knee during the national anthem in protest over racial injustice, he has been both praised and slammed for his actions. Recently, he felt the wrath from the NFL and a certain someone named Donald. Not one team wants to sign him since he became a free agent and this Donald person somehow wants credit for it. It is absolutely appalling to that Colin Kaepernick cannot get a job that he is qualified for, but you know who can become the most unqualified and reckless President we will ever see. On the part of the NFL, how can someone like Greg Hardy, who is a known domestic abuser, be even considered to join a team, among others, but when you make a strong statement of protest, you get kicked to the curb. Brother Colin is a man of courage, intelligence, perseverance, and compassion. He stands by his principles and puts his money where his mouth is by visiting and providing relief aide to those suffering in Somalia by famine and donating $50,000 to Meals on Wheels, which you know who wants to destroy. In the tradition of Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Bill Russell, Hank Aaron, Arthur Ashe, Billie Jean King, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Jim Brown, Tommie Smith and John Carlos, and others, Colin Kaepernick is a role model who excels on and most importantly off the field and stands for justice.
